I Don’t Do Celebrity Crushes…But If I Did…

It’s fine- my boyfriend completely knows about it. I find everything Steve Martin does to be genius. I also love his loyal friendship with Martin Short because it reminds me of the longest voluntary relationship of my life- I have had the same best friend since my first day of Kindergarten. As you get older you realize that those type of friendships are rare and are to be treasured.

But I digress, let’s get back to why Steve Martin is a genius. Where to begin- I loved some of his original comedy work, and to this day ‘Father of the Bride’ is the movie I watch when I need comfort movies (I will add though that I love the line and his outrage when he says ‘And who may I ask is the Father’ in ‘Father of the Bride II’)

So here is though why the man earns the right to be called a genius. In 2000, Steve Martin wrote a book called ‘Shopgirl’. It made the New York times Best Seller list and was eventually made in to a movie. Florida however (and of course this would happen in Florida as obviously it is the pillar of morality and standards, I mean just look at Spring Break every year) signed a bill FL House Bill 1069 that banned about 313 titles for being too sexual for students to read. Shopgirl was one of those books. This was Steve’s response on Instagram:
